Work and Security Act Transition Allowance

As of 1 July 2015, employees are entitled to financial compensation in the event of dismissal, which is called the transition allowance. This is subject to the condition that the employee has been employed for 2 years or more. This applies to both permanent and temporary employees. The transitional compensation can be used for training to make the transition to another job easier. Training obligation

With the introduction of the Work and Security Act (WWZ), the employer is obliged to arrange training or courses which are necessary for the performance of an employee’s duties. If the employee’s position is removed or the employee is no longer able to perform his duties, the employer is obliged to (re)train the employee so that the employment contract can be continued.
