PRINCE2® Practitioner in English

Program

As a project manager you will probably have noticed that projects do not always go as expected in spite of your knowledge and experience. How can you take continuously changing circumstances surrounding the project into consideration? How can you manage risks and complex issues? How can you monitor the situation and make adjustments to achieve a good project result? These are typical questions that are dealt with during the PRINCE2 Practitioner training course. The successful completion of this course provides you with a project management certificate that is held in high regard both at home and abroad.

Target group

You are a project manager or aspire to a position as project manager and you need to intensify your knowledge of the PRINCE2 methodology. You want to prepare for the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination. You work or have the ambition to work in an international environment in which English is the language of communication.

• The PRINCE2 Principles: Continuous business justification, Learning from experience, Defined roles and responsibilities, Management in stages, Management by exception, Product-oriented approach and Tailoring to project environment
• The PRINCE2 Processes: Starting up a Project, Initiating a Project, Directing a Project, Controlling a Stage, Managing Product Delivery, Managing Stage Boundaries and Closing a Project
• The PRINCE2 Themes: Business Case, Organization, Quality, Planning, Risk, Change and Progress
• Practical situations and examples
• PRINCE2 Practitioner examination training
• PRINCE2 Practitioner examination

Prior education

Before starting the course you need to possess the PRINCE2 Foundation certificate. You have at least a higher education level of practical and intellectual ability, and you have some project management experience. You have good knowledge of the English language.

Lesson preparation

Each lesson requires approximately 6 to 8 hours of preparation.

Method of study

During the course the focus is placed on the use and application of the PRINCE2 methodology in the English language. The theory is put into practice in (group) assignments whereby the concepts are concretized, leaving room for reflection on project management practice and the reciprocal exchange of experiences. Exercises, trial examinations and case studies provide optimum preparation for the examination. The entire course is given by an experienced project manager with broad practical experience of PRINCE2. The PRINCE2 Practitioner examination, in English, is held by ICM during the final lesson. ICM is renowned for having a very high pass rate for the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination.

Study material

The most recent study material (in English) is used. This complies fully with the guidelines and examination requirements of PRINCE2.

Certificate

The course PRINCE2 Practitioner in English enables you to obtain the qualification:

• PRINCE2® Practitioner certificate

Places & dates

ICM gives the PRINCE2 Practitioner course in English in either daytime or evening classes. The evening classes are held from 19.00 to 22.00 and consist of nine evenings. The daytime classes are held from 9.30 to 16.30 over 4,5 days.

The course consists of:

• 3,5 daytime classes or 7 evening classes
• 1 half-day examination training
• 1 half-day PRINCE2 Practitioner examination

The program will start in May 2013, October 2013, February 2014, May 2014 and October 2014.

PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner in English
ICM offers you the possibility of following the PRINCE2 Foundation and the PRINCE2 Practitioner courses in English as a combined package. You start with the PRINCE2 Foundation course and follow this up with PRINCE2 Practitioner. You have to have passed the PRINCE2 Foundation examination before you can take the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination. If you enroll for both English language courses as a combined package, you save € 250 on the costs of enrolling for the two courses separately.
